The crib bedding

For those who are asking about the crib bedding/room colors, here's the set we ordered. We'll probably paint the walls yellow like the image.

Practice Makes Perfect

Asher (eating a pluot and waiting for cookies from the oven): "What's Daddy doing?"
Me: "Daddy's practicing his guitar."
Asher: "Oh. I'm practicing eating."

I praying...

I'm behind on photos, but wanted to get this exchange down before I forget... This morning, Asher woke up and called for me. I climbed out of bed, pulled on my clothes, went to the bathroom, and headed for his room. When I walked in, he was on his knees with his hands folded.

Me: Good morning, baby doll!
Asher: Shhh, mommy, I praying.
Me: Oh, OK, I'll sit quietly over here in the chair.
Asher: ((Still kneeling with hands folded and eyes closed.)) Dear Jesus, thank you for my food. Thank you for sleep. Thank you ((mumble, mumble, can't understand what he said here)) .... AMEN!
Me: Amen!
Asher: OK, mommy, I ready to get up now.

February 19

Asher's got a nasty cold, and was feeling especially snugly tonight. We never want him to be sick, but we definitely enjoy the extra cuddles when he is.

February 18

Gerry and I walked over to the Westin where I'm scheduled to stay during GC. It's the tallest hotel in the U.S. (they said), and from the 59th floor, I could feel it swaying. Not sure I'm too keen on that. There was a lovely view of the Dome and GWCC from up there, though... They're replacing all the windows, many of which were knocked out in a tornado last year. It's a 15-month project, and they won't be done by the time we get there this summer, but having the scaffold out the window adds a little intrigue.

February 17

Today we toured the George Dome and Georgia World Congress Center, where we'll have the 2010 world session -- commonly known as General Conference (or G.C.) -- of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They were preparing for some motocross-type event, which explained the dirt floors.

February 16

I flew to Atlanta for meetings, and had lots of adventures. Navigating MARTA wasn't too complicated, but the cold was more piercing that I expected.

This last one is the view from my hotel room at the Omni.

February 15

I was working all day, and Ken took Asher to the park. Good daddy. :o)

February 14

Asher went to play with Lucy tonight while Ken and I had a date night.

February 13

Spent a little time at the park today; it was beautiful outside!

February 12

Headed up the Golden Gate bridge.

February 11

Went to San Francisco for the 2010 Macworld Expo. My flight left so early that I got to SF at sunrise.

Had dinner with a couple of my homegirls in Pleasanton. Julie made chocolate strawberries and got Nothing Bundt Cakes bundtlets. YUM. Cara and I were in heaven.

February 10

Mmmm, cereal...

February 9

Asher, yakkin' up a storm.

February 8

February 7

Kent and Pam came to visit for the weekend. Here the boys enjoy a relaxing moment.

February 5

Ken has a little hand-held texter he got as a product tester. It's useless for that purpose, but Asher has adopted it as his own little laptop "computer," because it looks like a mini-notebook.

February 4

I love tongs!

Oatmeal in the crockpot ... recipe FAIL. Ew!

Office shower for Danette...

Oh-so-serious self-portrait...

February 3

Cornflakes mess...

Surveying the territory...

Dump truck!

February 2

Eating Grandma's "diet food."

February 1

Everyday excitement...

Asher loves his alligator; good fun.

And Ken steams a handpiece part during a repair...

January 31

I hosted a baby shower for Danette at our house today. I had lots of great helpers (thanks Ken, Mom and everyone who contributed!), and we had a lovely time.

I already posted a pic of the diaper cake, but this one is bigger and brighter, so I can remember details.
